Let’s talk about exponential growth

When you go to the gym to gain muscle, it's not during the easy sets that real growth starts to happen. You might see linear growth by gradually increasing the weight over time, but the exponential growth comes from those reps beyond your limit…

Arnold Schwarzenegger is known for his "perfect form" stance, but he also encourages "cheating" to get a few extra reps in. By cheating, he means allowing other muscles and body parts to assist you, even if it breaks perfect form.

It's those extra reps that lead to exponential growth. When you do just two extra reps beyond your capability, you don't just gain two reps worth of muscle(linear), but you experience exponential growth…

Let’s look at an example…

We all know the story about a penny doubled every day for 31 days leading to around 10 million dollars.

Now imagine doubling that amount just once more every week, just four times or 12,9% of extra effort in a month. That 10 million dollars would turn into 170 million dollars! That’s an increase of 1700% for just 12,9% more effort! Let that sink in…

So, what’s the point of all this?

The point is that this can be applied in every area of your life! In your workout, your job, your relationships, your passions, your attitude and everywhere you want to grow in exponentially. Just a little bit beyond the standard will lead to huge benefits.

Earl Nightingale once said, "The human race is fixed. Not to prevent the strong from winning, but to prevent the weak from losing."

It's easy to meet the standard expectations of life and the people around you, but when you go the extra mile, even just a tiny bit, you become the exception. You'll be looked up to and set a higher standard and inspire the people around you

So, in summary, take that extra step, push past your limits, and experience the exponential growth that awaits you!

👟Actionable steps

  • Be consistent before you can multiply growth

    - Read Elevation 1 about consistency 👇

  • Find 3 areas in your life where you can do “extra”.📝
    - For example: workout reps, calls, running a little extra etc.

  • Identify 3 ways you can do the unexpected. 🤯
    - Where can you differentiate from what is common, normal or expected?

✍️Quote

“When you think that you are done, you're only 40% in to what your body's capable of doing. That's just the limits that we put on ourselves. We still have 60 percent more to give!“
