UNDERSTANDING GOALS
🐘 The Elephant
Hello, fellow self-improvement warriors!
Ever felt like a hamster on a wheel, spinning furiously but never quite reaching your goals?
If so, then listen up, because today I'm sharing the secrets of The Unstoppable Goal-Getter.
These are the same tactics used by high achievers in every field, from CEOs to athletes to artists.
But first, let's address the elephant in the room.
Why do so many people fail to achieve their goals?
The answer is simple:
They lack the fire in their belly,
The unwavering determination to overcome any obstacle that stands in their way.
(It looks like this)
They're like wannabe warriors who show up to battle armed with a Nerf gun and a tickle feather.
They may have the right intentions, but they're woefully unprepared for the challenges that lie ahead.
If you want to achieve your goals, you need to cultivate a burning desire within you.
A desire that will keep you going when the going gets tough.
A desire that will make you laugh in the face of adversity.
So, how do you ignite this inner fire?
By tapping into your deepest WHY.
What is the reason you want to achieve your goal?
What will it mean to you once you've crossed the finish line?
Take some time to reflect on your true WHY.
The more profound your WHY, the more fuel it will provide for your goal-achievement journey.
Once you've identified your WHY, it's time to start setting some goals.
SETTING GOALS
Dream big, or go home.
Don't be afraid to set audacious goals that make your heart race.
The bigger the goal, the more motivated you'll be to achieve it.
So if you've been dreaming of starting your own business, writing a book, or running a marathon, don't hold back.
Make your goals SMART.
Once you've got your big, hairy, audacious goal (BHAG), it's time to break it down into smaller, more manageable steps.
This is where the SMART acronym comes in:
Specific: What exactly do you want to achieve?
Measurable: How will you know when you've achieved it?
Achievable: Is it realistic to achieve this goal?
Relevant: Is this goal aligned with your overall values and goals?
Time-bound: When do you want to achieve this goal?
By making your goals SMART, you'll be more likely to stay on track and achieve them.
Write it down.
There's something about putting pen to paper that makes goals more real and tangible.
So take a few minutes to write down your goals in a clear and concise manner.
Once you've written them down, stick them somewhere you'll see them every day.
This will serve as a constant reminder of what you're working towards.
Create a plan of action.
Once you know what you want to achieve, it's time to figure out how you're going to get there.
This is where your plan of action comes in.
Break down your goal into smaller steps and create a timeline for achieving each step.
Be as specific as possible and include deadlines for each task.
Take action.
The most important step in achieving any goal is taking action.
Don't just sit around and think about what you want to do.
Get out there and start making things happen.
Even if you don't know exactly how you're going to achieve your goal, just start taking steps in the right direction.
The more you do, the clearer the path will become.
Celebrate your wins.
As you achieve milestones along the way, be sure to take the time to celebrate your successes.
This will help you stay motivated and on track.
So don't be afraid to pat yourself on the back when you reach a goal.
You've earned it!
THAT’S A WRAP
♟️ Don’t give up!
Of course, there will be setbacks along the way.
That's just life.
But the important thing is to not let them derail you.
If you slip up, don't beat yourself up about it. Just pick yourself up and start again.
Remember, progress, not perfection, is the key to success.
So there you have it, my fellow goal-getters.
The tools you need to set and achieve any goal you set your mind to.
Now go forth and conquer!
And if you ever need a little motivation, just remember these words:
You are capable of anything you set your mind to.
